- Surge Protective Devices are used to protect the electrical installation from electrical power surges or known as transient overvoltage.
- Lightning is one of the events that can cause transient surge where it will result in instant failure or damage to the equipment.
- SPD is designed to eliminate the transient overvoltage and divert current waves to earth. It is usually installed within the consumer unit to protect the electrical installation.
